This anime helped get me hooked for life.STORY- Having a top notch graphic novel to borrow from, the story is a solid if somewhat simple story. Very traditional hero tale, but I will never fault an anime for that as long as it delivers well.ANIMATION- An older anime, the animation is not spectacular by today's standards, however it is good enough that it shouldn't put anyone off.SOUND- I actually am very fond of the soundtrack, and have bought it. The voice acting too is solid. The dub is not my preference but it is a very good dub and will sound more current than the Japanese version.CHARACTERS- D is one of the best anime characters of all time as far as I am concerned. I think like a lot of simple hero stories, this anime is characterized largely by just how badass the main character is.OVERALL- I give this anime a 10 because it is a superb vampire movie with one of the best anime characters ever created.
